Title 24 California building standards code is a broad set of requirements for energy conservation, green design, construction and maintenance, fire life safety and accessibility. This applies to the structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a building. The purpose of title 24 it’s ensure that builds and construction and system design and installation achieve higher energy efficiency. You might ask why I need title 24? In order to build a new home, add an addition to an existing home, or alter the mechanical equipment or lighting in a commercial property, you need title 24. It consists of 12 parts. Which are (CAC) California Administrative Code, (CBC) California Building Code, (CEC) California Electric Code, (CMC) California Mechanical Code, (CPC) California Plumbing Code, and California Energy Code. Then it’s (CHBC) California historical building code, the (CFC) California fire code, (CBSC) California building standards commission, ( CAL GREEN CODE) California green building standards, and lastly the (CRSC) the California reference standard code.
